JBC GRADUATION 2009

Dear Friends in Christ,

The academic year ‘08-’09, concluded with a beautiful graduation service on Sunday July 5th. Prof Errol Miller gave a very powerful word as he spoke from his heart to the hearts of those in the audience. The over seventy graduates received the timely word with much gratitude.

The year was not exempt from the many challenges facing the wider society. These included: economic recession, threat of H1N1, security and deterioration in the behavioural standards of the past.  Despite all of these and many more, Jamaica Bible College with your gracious partnership continues to make a significant mark on the lives of countless persons.

During the year we had the privilege of having Bishop Paul Hirschy from Huntington University teaching a modular course. We also had the volunteered support of Rev & Mrs. Clive Stephenson sponsored by Ministries in Action, Rev & Mrs. Robert Conway third time volunteers from Pennsylvania, giving five months of service. Towards the end of the year we were blessed with 28 volunteers from Project Serve from Wisconsin, for a week, giving wonderful help with maintenance issues.

Amidst all the business, we saw many persons committing their lives to Christ in our daily chapel services. Our chapel speakers included: Mrs. George Beckford, Rev. Dalton Jenkins and many others, who were greatly used of God to share a challenge with us. Peta-Gaye Smith a student with a heart problem, was able to have her surgery done and is in the process of recovery.

Thank you for your continued generous financial and essential prayer support as we move forward into the new academic year.

*Pray with us for the following: Continued effort to get our programs fully accredited by UCJ. * Continued partnership with Huntington University. *A good group of students in all departments, but primarily the Bible department. *Funds for Capital development and maintenance. * Funds for Scholarship for needy students. * A sense of God’s presence on the campus as we seek to challenge students regarding  personal transformation into Christlikeness.* Efforts to reach boys in the communities around us.

Yours in the service of Christ

Owen & the JBC staff and students.
